Indication

Orbidex G is used for post-operative inflammation and any other ocular inflammation associated with infection. It is also indicated in uveities, blepharitis, scleritis, episcleritis, choroiditis, cyclitis, optic neuritis and corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns, or penetration of foreign bodies.


Dosage & Administration

One or two drops instilled into the conjunctival sac(s), every 4 to 6 hours or as directed by the physician.


Precautions

Not for injection. Prolonged use of steroids may result in glaucoma with damage to the optic nerve, defects in visual acuity and fields of vision, and posterior subcapsular cataract formation.

 

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Animal experiments with dexamethasone have shown adverse effect on the fetus. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women; Orbidex G should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
